Leave Settings
Overview: The Leave Settings section allows you to define and manage leave policies for your organization. Customize leave categories, set paid/unpaid status, and configure leave allotment types (monthly or yearly). Additionally, manage leave overutilization and archive leaves for record-keeping.

Leave Categories: Define types of leaves (e.g., Sick, Casual, Earned).

Overutilization Policies: Define rules for handling excess leave usage.
Archive Leaves: Preserve leave records without direct deletion.
1. Leave Categories
Purpose: Define and manage types of leaves employees can take.
Common Categories:
Sick Leave: For medical reasons.
Casual Leave: For personal or unforeseen circumstances.
Earned Leave: Accrued over time for vacations or planned time off.
How to Set Up:
Navigate to Leave Settings > Leave Categories.
Add or edit leave types and configure their paid/unpaid status.
2. Leave Allotment Types
Purpose: Define how leaves are allocated to employees.
Options:
Monthly Leave Type: Assign a fixed number of leaves each month.
Yearly Leave Type: Assign a fixed number of leaves annually, with optional monthly limits.
How to Set Up:
Go to Leave Settings > Leave Allotment.
Choose the allotment type and set leave limits.
3. Entitlement and Applicability
Purpose: Define criteria for leave eligibility and usage.
Features:
Eligibility Rules: Set conditions for who can take specific leaves.
Carry Forward: Allow unused leaves to be carried forward to the next period (if applicable).
How to Set Up:
Navigate to Leave Settings > Entitlement & Applicability.
Configure rules based on employee roles, tenure, or other criteria.
4. Overutilization Policies
Purpose: Handle situations where employees exceed their allotted leave days.
Options:
Do Not Allow: Prevent employees from taking extra leaves.
Allow and Mark as Unpaid: Permit extra leaves but mark them as unpaid.
Allow with Consequences: Permit extra leaves but apply penalties (e.g., salary deductions).
How to Set Up:
Go to Leave Settings > Overutilization Policies.
Select the desired policy and configure penalties (if applicable).
5. Archive Leaves
Purpose: Preserve leave records for historical reference without deleting them.
Features:
Prevents Direct Deletion: Archived leaves cannot be deleted immediately.
Permanent Deletion: Archived leaves can be deleted later if needed.
How to Set Up:
Navigate to Leave Settings > Archive Leaves.
Archive leaves that are no longer active but need to be retained for records.
